Who we do and do not work with: our ideal client filter
11 August 2026 · SOM-OS
There is a phrase we repeat internally more often than should be necessary: we say no more often than yes. It is not a pose. It is not a marketing strategy. It is the natural consequence of building systems, rather than screens.
When you build a €500 landing page, your ideal client is “anyone with €500”. When you build a business operating system — custom software that connects processes, centralises data and creates a foundation for scaling with AI — your ideal client is much more specific. Filtering is not optional. It is essential.
Why filter?
Most agencies say yes to everything. A client arrives, signs a quote and receives something. If the client did not know what they needed, they get what they asked for. Four months later, nobody uses the software. The client is frustrated. The agency has been paid. Nobody wins.
We do not work that way. Building a system is an investment of €15,000 to €50,000. If we are not a good fit, we waste your time and you waste your money. An honest no at the beginning is infinitely cheaper than a project that fails after four months.
An honest no is better than a project that fails after 4 months.
Who we DO work with
You have a working business
You do not need us to rescue you. You need your processes to stop depending on people and paperwork. You have a team on the payroll, real clients and revenue. The business works. The infrastructure supporting it does not.
Your processes scale badly: every new client brings more chaos, rather than more revenue. Critical knowledge lives in people’s heads, hidden spreadsheets and WhatsApp conversations at 23:00. If the key person leaves, the process breaks.
You invest in foundations, not patches
Building a system costs €15–50k. It is not cheap. But that is what it costs to build something that lasts years, rather than months. If your mindset is “I would rather do it properly once than repeat it every year”, you are a good fit.
You understand that AI needs architecture first. You do not arrive asking us to “put AI in my business” without having your data organised. You ask for a system that lays the foundation so that, when the time comes, AI can really work.
You want real apps your team uses in production, not demos to impress people in a meeting. You know that a beautiful screen nobody uses is wasted money.
Who we DO NOT work with
“A €500 landing page in 3 days”
It is not that we cannot do it. It is not what we do. A landing page is a screen. We build systems. If you want something quick and cheap, free templates do exactly that. If you want a system that supports your business for years, let’s talk.
A landing page does not change processes. A system does. The difference is not aesthetic: it is the difference between something that looks good in a demo and something that supports a real operation.
“I want AI” without clean data
AI is not something you plug in. Without data architecture and digitised processes, AI is an expensive parrot that repeats without understanding. If your data sits in five spreadsheets and nobody knows which is correct, if your processes run through WhatsApp, if nobody on your team knows exactly who does what — AI will not fix it. It amplifies it.
We have seen it in every company that arrives saying “we want to add AI” without having its data organised. The first answer is not “let’s add AI”. It is “let’s map what you have”.
AI without context is an expensive parrot. It repeats without understanding. It needs clean data architecture before it can contribute anything.
A fixed deadline before knowing what to build
“I need it by the end of the month.” What for? If you do not know what you need, the deadline is arbitrary. A system built in a rush is a system that breaks.
First, we map. Then we know how long it takes. Speed comes from the foundation, not from skipping steps. Foundation, our monorepo template (Nuxt 4 + NestJS 11 + PostgreSQL 17 + Redis + BullMQ + LangChain), gives us 3–5x the speed of traditional development. But that speed applies to a plan, not to chaos.
The filter as a service to the client
Filtering is not snobbery. It is honesty. When we say no, we save someone €30,000 and four months of frustration. When we say yes, we know the project will work — because the client fits, the problem fits and the solution fits.
The first step is always the same: a free 30-minute discovery call. It is diagnosis, not selling. We map the three processes taking up most of your time. If it fits, we say “this fits Package X”. If it does not, we say “you do not need us”. Both sides win.
Real cases
Sando Capital. They arrived without a website, system or database. Just WhatsApp and 30-minute calls to understand each investor. A good fit: a working business, processes that scaled badly and a desire to build properly. Within 3 weeks they had a complete centralised system. −70% of the time spent qualifying leads.
Nemus Arboricultura. Management through 5 isolated tools that did not communicate. A good fit: a working business, investment in foundations and a desire for a system. We unified everything into one system. 5→1 tools. −5h/week of administrative work. 0 copying and pasting.
Both were a good fit. That is why it worked. If you are not a good fit, it does not matter how good we are — the project will fail.
If you have a working business and processes that scale badly, start with a free 30-minute discovery call. It is diagnosis, not selling. If we are not a good fit, we tell you.
