Chaos Map: the audit that tackles chaos before digitisation
29 June 2026 · SOM-OS
What the Chaos Map is
The Chaos Map is a short, direct audit mapping a company’s processes, tools and bottlenecks before anyone writes a single line of code. It takes between 5 and 7 days. It ends with a PDF you keep — whether or not you do the project with us.
It is not a strategy consultation. It is not a 40-page slide deck. It is a blueprint: what you do, with which tools, where everything gets stuck and what needs assembling first so digitisation is useful rather than a budget sink.
Why it exists
Most agencies jump straight to building. The client arrives, signs a quote, Figma is opened and two months later there is an app nobody uses because it did not solve the real problem. The team still copies and pastes in Excel, now with a new dashboard that also needs feeding manually.
The Chaos Map exists because building without auditing wastes money. If you do not know where the bottlenecks are, any software you commission is a shot in the dark. Before discussing AI, automation or custom apps, you need to understand how your operation works today. Who does what. Which information moves. Where it gets lost.
A 5-day audit costs less than two months of useless development. You take it with you even if you decide not to hire us.
How it works
The process has three stages and no filler:
- Initial session (2 hours). We sit down — in person in Mallorca or by video call — and walk through your operation with you. What you sell, how you sell it and what happens next. Who uses each tool and why.
- Field work (3–5 days). We talk to the people actually running the process, not just the person in charge. We look at spreadsheets, WhatsApp, manual forms and PDFs printed for signing and then scanned. We map the real workflow, not the organisation chart.
- Closing and handover (1h session + PDF). We present the map, check it with you and deliver the completed document. If a project fits, we propose it. If not, you still leave with an actionable blueprint.
What you receive
A 5–8-page PDF, written in plain Spanish, with three sections:
- Map of current processes. Where you are today, which tools you use and how information moves between them.
- Identified bottlenecks. The specific points where time is lost, work duplicated or the chain broken.
- A defined plan. What to build first, what can already be automated, what needs data architecture before adding AI and what stays outside the initial scope.
The document is yours. You can take it to another agency, your internal team or save it for a year from now. There is no lock-in.
Pricing: €250 basic, €500 in-depth
The Chaos Map has two levels:
- Basic — €250. 2h session + light field work + 5-page PDF. Enough for small companies with a clear main process.
- In-depth — €500 or more. 2h session + interviews with 3–5 team members + mapping multiple processes + 8-page PDF with a staged plan. For companies with several workflows or large teams.
The price is deducted from the development quote if you continue with SOM-OS. If not, you keep the document for what you paid.
Why €250 rather than €5,000
A traditional consultancy charges €3,000–8,000 for an equivalent audit. It takes 3–6 weeks. It delivers 40 pages nobody reads. The Chaos Map costs €250 because it is shorter, more direct and because its value is not in the document; it is in your decision to build with us.
It is a two-way filter. You see how we work without risking €5,000. We understand your business properly before quoting anything. If it does not fit, we both know within a week and nobody has lost months.
The Chaos Map is not a product. It is the honest way to start a software project.
What it does NOT include
To avoid surprises:
- No code. No prototypes, Figma or wireframes.
- No implementation. The plan is defined but is not executed within this commission.
- No security, regulatory compliance or GDPR audit. Those are separate if you need them.
- No strategic business consulting. We do not tell you what to sell or to whom. We tell you how your operation stands and what to fix first.
When to request a Chaos Map
Request it if any of these phrases sound familiar in your team: “This is in three spreadsheets and nobody knows which is correct”, “We lose an hour a day copying data between places”, “We want to add AI but do not know where to start”, or “We are going to digitise but do not know what to build first”.
If your operation is already clear and you know exactly what you want, skip the map and go straight to services. The Chaos Map is for people with chaos who need order before building.
