Free discovery: why 30 minutes is enough to diagnose your business
25 August 2026 · SOM-OS
Most companies that talk to us do not know which stage they are at. They have software, but no system. Data, but no architecture. A desire to add AI, without even knowing whether their foundation can support it.
That is why the first session is free and lasts 30 minutes. It is not a disguised pitch. It is a diagnosis. Most leave knowing exactly where they stand.
Why it is free
A sales call wastes both sides’ time. A discovery session saves it. We need to understand your operation before proposing anything. You need to know whether it is worth continuing the conversation.
That is why it is free. That is why it lasts 30 minutes. And that is why it ends with a clear answer, rather than “I will send you a proposal”.
If, at the end of those 30 minutes, we do not see a fit, we tell you. If your problem can be solved with a standard €20/month tool, we tell you that too. We do not sell what you do not need.
What happens in the session
We do not review your entire company in 30 minutes. That is impossible. What we do is identify the three processes taking up most of your time, see whether your tools communicate or ignore each other and detect whether you are ready for AI or need a foundation first.
The session has three 10-minute blocks. Each has a clear goal.
First 10 minutes: listen
You talk. We take notes. No slides. No jargon. No questions leading towards an answer we have already prepared.
What takes up your time every week? Which task do you repeat by hand knowing it should be automatic? Which tool do you open and hate every morning? These are open questions. The answers tell us more than any advance questionnaire.
We speak your language, not ours. If you say “Excel”, we do not correct you with “spreadsheet”. If you say “WhatsApp”, we do not talk about an “asynchronous communication channel”. The goal is to understand you, not impress you.
Minutes 10–20: map
We turn what we hear into a quick map. The format is simple: Process → Tool → Bottleneck → Time lost.
In those 10 minutes, we identify the three processes taking up most of your time. We see whether they are isolated or connected. We find the real problem — which is almost never where you think it is.
Most companies arrive thinking they have one problem. They leave discovering it was another. That moment — “ah, that is what is holding me back” — makes the session worthwhile even if we do not work together.
Last 10 minutes: diagnosis
We tell you which stage you are at: analogue, digital or ready for AI. Not “perhaps”. Not “it depends”. A clear answer you can use even if you do not work with us.
We tell you what to solve first, what you can ignore for now and whether it fits what we build. If it does not fit, we tell you. If it does, we tell you how — with fixed prices and estimated timelines.
The two possible answers
There are two answers at the end of the session. Both are wins.
“This fits Package X” — If your problem fits what we build, we tell you which package would solve what. We have four fixed-price packages: Digital Presence with a Brain (€2,500), Customer Acquisition PRO (€4,500), Business Operating System (€8,000) and Local Ecommerce (€6,000). No surprises. No “I will send a proposal and we will talk”.
“You do not need us” — If your problem can be solved with a standard €20/month tool, we tell you. If it does not fit, it does not fit. We do not sell what you do not need. We trust that honesty will bring us more clients in the long term than a forced sale.
60–70% of companies that have a discovery session end up working with us. But 100% leave knowing where they stand.
Why 30 minutes rather than 60
Because 30 minutes makes us get to the point. There is no time for detours, “let me tell you the whole company history” or questions that add nothing. 30 minutes forces focus. Focus is what produces a useful diagnosis.
Companies arriving with the idea that they need 2 hours to “explain everything” are surprised. You do not need to explain everything. You need to explain what hurts. That usually fits in 10 minutes if the questions are right.
Later, if we are a good fit and you proceed with a Chaos Map or a package, we will have all the time we need to go deeper. Discovery is not the complete analysis. It is the first assessment — the one that tells you whether continuing is worthwhile.
Is your business ready for AI?
One of the questions we hear most is: “could you add AI for me?” The answer is almost always: “it depends on your foundation”.
If your data is in 5 spreadsheets and your processes in WhatsApp, adding AI does not fix it. It amplifies it. AI without context is an expensive parrot: it repeats without understanding. It needs clean data architecture before it can contribute anything.
That is why the diagnosis includes an honest assessment of your stage. If you are analogue, we say you need to digitise first. If you are digital but isolated, we say you need to connect before adding intelligence. If you are ready for AI, we tell you how.
We do not sell you stage 3 when you need stage 1. We start where you are.
